Alfred, NY – Otis Eastern Service and Minnesota Limited, two premier transmission pipeline contractors servicing more than 37 states, recently partnered with Alfred State to lend machinery to their heavy equipment operation program this semester. The fleet team at both companies donated three rubber-tired backhoes and three mini-excavators, which will be used to help students get hands-on experience with installation, excavation, clearing, site work, and more. In addition, professors at Alfred State invited Scott Stimely, Director of Asset Management at Otis Eastern Service, to speak with students and deliver a presentation on the importance of proper operation and safety procedures when working with heavy equipment.
Through this donation, Otis Eastern Service and Minnesota Limited continue to invest in providing learning opportunities to a new generation of skilled tradespeople. These students are learning firsthand the benefits that the energy industry and safe, reliable infrastructure has for our families and communities. Programs such as the heavy equipment operation curriculum are developing top talent with specialized skills that can be applied across many aspects of our industry. Otis Eastern Service and Minnesota Limited are proud to support programs such as these and will continue efforts to build a talented workforce for today and beyond.
